Part time Post Graduate Program in Management for Software Professionals

About the Program

The Post Graduate Program in Software Enterprise Management is being offered by IIM, Bangalore simultaneously in Bangalore and Chennai. The course had its genesis in Bangalore in 1998 and was first offered in Chennai in 2005. This is an Executive General Management Education Program designed for professionals from software and IT industry who are awarded a diploma on course completion. This program is available for working professionals who can undergo the course while continuing to work. The course is offered in partnership with Intel Techonologies India Pvt Ltd., Motorola India Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Oracle India Pvt. Ltd., Sasken Communication Technologies Ltd., Sun Micro Systems India Pvt. Ltd. and Wipro Technologies Limited.

Duration

The course is spread over two and a half years and classes are conducted on Friday mornings and on Saturdays. The classes are conducted between 8.00 am and 11.15 am on Fridays and between 8.00 am and 3.30 pm on Saturdays. Students are allowed to take breaks during the program.

Classes

The classes in Chennai are conducted in synchronous mode using two-way video and audio along with auxiliary technologies supporting interaction between the faculty member and students in Chennai and Bangalore. Sometimes faculty members travel to Chennai once in few weeks to conduct classes.

Eligibility and Selection

The program is open to professionals with at least two but preferably 4-5 years or more of work experience in the software and information technology related industry. Those who are looking to become entrepreneurs or managers in the software and IT industry will benefit from this program. The test scores that are accepted are CAT / GMAT / PGSEM Test. The test will be followed by interview for short listed candidates.
